Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara
Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Nairobi at around 7:00 AM. Depart for the Masai Mara at approximately 8:00 AM, with a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to admire the spectacular scenery and take photos.
Continue your journey through the scenic countryside, passing through Narok Town before proceeding to the Masai Mara. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at your camp or lodge before checking in and taking some time to freshen up and relax.
Later in the afternoon, head out for your first game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Explore the vast savannah as you search for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and other wildlife. The game drive continues until approximately 6:30 PM, when the reserve closes for the day.
Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Accommodation: Lenchada Camp, Sankale Camp, Rhino Camp, or a similar budget tented camp with self-contained tents.
Speend the day discovering the reserve’s vast savannah plains and searching for its incredible variety of wildlife.
The Masai Mara forms part of the greater Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, offering excellent opportunities to encounter lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, cheetahs, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and many other species.
During the day, visit the Mara River, an important wildlife area and one of the most famous locations in the reserve. Depending on the season, the river and its surrounding areas can be especially active with wildlife and may offer opportunities to witness the spectacular Great Migration.
After breakfast, you’ll have the option to enjoy a Maasai cultural experience with a visit to a traditional Maasai village. This optional activity offers an opportunity to learn about Maasai culture, traditions, and way of life.
The village visit costs approximately USD 10–20 per person, depending on the experience, and payment is made directly at the village.
After the visit, check out of your camp or lodge and begin your journey back to Nairobi, passing through Narok Town, where you’ll stop for lunch.
Continue to Nairobi and arrive at approximately 3:30 PM, followed by drop-off at your hotel or preferred location, marking the end of your 3-day Masai Mara safari.
You can expect guided game drives with opportunities to see the Big Five, including lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos, as well as cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, gazelles, and many other wildlife species.
